The By Small Chance Antiques store was my first miniature project. It is fun to fill, as the inventory changes all the time. It's home to a George Schlosser Mt. Vernon painting, Sam Dunlap fiestaware pieces, Vince Stapleton pottery, a Mell Prescott wing chair, a couple of Kummerow lamps, and more. As you can see, I am still working on the exterior trimwork and sidewalk.
I love the furniture and decor of the arts & crafts era and collect it to decorate my real (full-size) home. Many of my Miniatures by Libby handmade pieces replicate this style.
This room box features several pieces made by me and works from Vince Stapleton, Barbara & Lew Kummerow, and more. Some pieces are available for sale. You can also commission me to make you a room box similar to this!
I am making good progress on decorating the newest addition to my collection, a room scene from the Marianne Thurtle estate. Marianne was an ardent collector and well-known in the miniature world. Her collection is so extensive that it took three auctions to sell it all! This room box was originally a Christmas scene. I decided to make it an English Hunting Lodge with an equestrian theme throughout. So far I have added a hunting scene tray by Natasha, a hunting scene oil painting by Betty Spice, boots, hat, and riding crop by Sylvia Roundtree - The Doll's Cobbler, leather chair and ottoman by Jeffrey Steele, rifle and powder horn by Sir Thom Thumb, and a Kummerow slag glass lamp. I have a lot more filling to do, so check in again soon!
