The Williamsburg is the newest dollhouse added to my collection. I believe it was built from a 1975 Doll Domiciles' plan which was adapted from the Josias Moody House in Williamsburg, Virginia.
This house came from the collection of Fran Merrill, who lived in Fayetteville, New York. Mrs. Merrill purchased it in 2014 from Everett Avery who got it at an estate sale in poor condition.
Mr. Avery beautifully renovated it in 2012.
All the flooring is wood plank. The walls are either papered or painted and hand stenciled. The house has five fireplaces, two chimneys and two porches, that are made with kiln fired bricks!
Enjoy the images below. I have a lot of "filling" to do, but the house is already graced by many magnificent artisan pieces that were part of Mrs. Merrill's vast collection. Sadly, she passed in 2021. I feel blessed as the new owner of this beautiful home.

The exterior of the house, as Fran Merrill had it originally displayed. I presently have the house facing a wall, so I am unable to take an updated photo of the front.
The house has five rooms - the original four from the plan plus an added addition, "The Keeping Room." I love the center foyer and staircase.
I love the side entry and the little touches that Mrs. Merrill added to it like the window box and the birdhouse.
The Keeping Room is by far my favorite room in the house. The upper loft allows for all sorts of goodies to be displayed! This room features a mustard cabinet by Barbara Vajnar of Bubba's Miniatures, a Windsor chair by William (Bill) Clinger, pottery by Jane Graber and Carolyn Nygren Curran, a Bliss Dollhouse by Valerie Casson, various advertising signs and a child's horse rocker by Renee Bowen, and more!
The kitchen is small, but workable. The ladderback chairs and blue wall cabinet were made by Barbara Vajnar of Bubba's Miniatures. The copper pans, the kettle and stands are by Jason Getzan. The tinware coffee kettle on the mantle is by Bill Birkemeier of Studio B Miniatures,. There's a silverware tray by Renee Bowen and a tavern table by Arthur Schilling.
The foyer and staircase features a punch needle rug by Joan Grimord and a Philadelphia style Windsor bench by Reminiscence, part of the Thorne Rooms collection.
